Hi Mark,

I can reproduce this exact error on my SuSE system by creaing an empty 
XF86Config file in /etc/X11 directory (not before saving my working one 
obviously).

Therefore it's worth checking that your XF86Config file actually contains 
something and is not 0 bytes in size.

Also, for what it's worth, I don't put much faith in Sax2. I have in the past 
used Sax2 to break my perfectly working XF86Config file. Ummm!!!
