A Miracle has happened!

I now have graphics!  well sort of,

I upped the video memory to 2mb and selected 16bit colour depth, i manually
punched in the monitors horiz and vertic sync settings of 30-70 and 50-150
respectivelly.  Everything else remains unchanged.

startx now starts a windows system of some sort! its either blackbox or
Fluxbox because those are the only two that i have loaded, i suspect its
blackbox.   The image quality as you may know is very poor, keybord works,
mouse works.   But the only option that works when clicked on is exit! and
the useable area of the screen is restricted to the bottom third of a 17"
screen.    Not one other option clicked on in any of the menus work at all.
The only one that i recognise is Emacs and when it is clicked on nothing
happens just like all the others!
