I've telephoned Mr Fairburn and found that he has tried to install
Fedora on an old machine but it was a no go. He has decided to buy a new
PC and would like it to come with Linux pre-installed. I have given Mr
Fairburn a few choices of Vendors (yes, including SNB Computers) but
have also suggested that he may invest in a "nearly new" machine and
that he could bring the machine along to a meeting or, indeed, that he
may bring is old machine along to the meeting and that we could try and
install a distro on that.

I did offer to pop round but he is an old man and, obviously, there is a
trust issue - i.e. I think he would prefer to meet us on neutral ground
first. He does live in Filey which is a bit of a way for me to travel
(if it comes to that) but I will do if noone else volunteers.

regards
