I recall Pete had .mda files not .mdb files. I think he called them
Microsoft Data Access files. So they may be of a different format.

Subject: [SLUG] Importing .mdb files to Postgresql

At the last meeting somebody, I think it was Pete, asked about using
existing MS Access databases in Linux.

Firstly, I must warn you that I have not done this myself but through
advice on the Open University newsgroups that I frequent, I found out
the following:

PGadmin2 is a database design and admin tool for PostgreSQL on windows,
see:

It also has a database migration tool for exporting tables and data to a
PostgreSQL database (in this case your Access .mdb files) via ODBC
(drivers are included). When you download the PGadmin2 tool, you also
need the pgMigration (version 1.6) plugin as well, both can be
downloaded from: <http://pgadmin.postgresql.org/pgadmin2/downloads/>

hope this helps
