Sounds like a good idea to me.

In the interest of raising awareness of OSS in the area I've put together
this as a starting point for a poster.

I hope I've not been too wildly inaccurate with the names of OSS used,
if you see something which shouldn't be there or can think of something
which should be represented.  I'd like to know to make alterations.

As I say, it is only a starting point...  So your comments please!
