[SLUG] Wild idea

Here's another wild idea.

I'm just looking at the LPI stuff and it looks pretty OK (anyone think
different?)

I know Steve you mentioned possibly being interested in training in
linux and getting certification. I wonder if anyone would be
interested (I'm not entirely sure I would, yet, but I just wonder), in
taking the program laid out here <http://www.lpi.org/en/obj_101.html>,
dividing it up over, say, a year, and working through it at the same
time. At each meeting at least we could just check progress with each
other, and perhaps we'd actually learn something we could pass on.

The exam I saw cost £55 to take, and you need two, the above plus
<http://www.lpi.org/en/obj_102.html> to become a junior level
administration. Helluva motivator that word 'junior'. I aspire to it.

Under that system, we'd take a couple of years to do that, but given
what else we have to do (I mean, there's all the emails to write).

As a group, we could fire off a new group of 101s next year, we'd
start 102, and eventually we'd have three or four levels going on at
once.

Just an idea. Basically, would anyone else be interested?

J
