Sounds like a job for vim.  Open all the files to be edited in vim then
use:

:argdo %s/(c)/\©/gec |w

the c option will prompt for a y/n action from you.  Should at least
save a little keyboard wear, but you can probably do funky things with
perl to achieve the same effect. ;)
