We tried a few of these on the lug site a year or so ago. It should be
all in the archives. In the end people were not that happy. Mainly
because however much you customized them they still seem to look like
phpnuke, which IMO looks a little lazy. I like the idea of a custom
built one because it can be tailored from ground up to do what we
want.

Just my 2 cents.

The whole CMS thing caused quite a bit of consternation back then but
maybe peoples thoughts and feelings on the subject have changed now.
