Bottom posting is best done in conjunction with only including the
contextual part of the email.

E.g. I have bottom posted but I have only included the bit of your email
which was relevant.... The irrelevant stuff has been omitted and hence
reading time is reduced and bandwidth saved.

Top posting in itself isn't wasteful - it's just that generally people
include the entirety of the message before!
