One question I often get asked is how to setup Linux to give you the full
groupware (shared calendars, shared contacts etc) functionality of MS
Exchange server and, without paying, I don't think there is any free
solutions that currently exist. Whilst it is true that there are plenty of
free solutions for free e-mail clients such Kontact and Evolution putting MS
Outlook into the equation creates a whole new ball game.

It is possible to cobble together a mixture of technologies (under Linux) to
meet all the groupware functionality of Exchange but most Windows users like
to do it all through Outlook (especially companies) as Microsoft intended and
without paying money I have not found a solution to make it all work via
Outlook.

From my point of view it's a shame really because I know at least one company
out there using MDaemon Pro (http://www.altn.com) that may have looked at
Linux. Still at least MDaemon isn't MS Exchange.

Regards,
Paul.
