Some time ago, I think it was Steve O'Neil mentioned that " yum install 
numlockx " would download and install the facility to start the NumLock 
at Boot Time.  I did this and it worked perfectly, just as it should 
(thanks for that).

However, I have now discovered that KDE has an integral Numlock starter 
in Control Panel => Peripherals => Keyboard.

This also works.  I think it is based on numlockx, anyway.
