Hi ppl

Well we had a meeting last night, but only me and Dave showed up. I'm
happy enough because he helped me get my two machines connected using
Samba, but how come no-one showed?

Here's what I think I should learn from this:

1) people rely on a wake-up email (and not on the 'rule' about dates)
2) I did send a wake-up email mid-morning, but I haven't yet seen it
arrive, so the LUG server really is slow so I need to do it at least
the day before (I know that anyway, but this emphasises it)

I am still behind with my emails, hence my lateness. That is getting
sorted.

But is there anything else, or have I concluded wrongly? Was the
subject of the meeting not what you wanted? Was there something good
on the telly :-) ?

Anyways, the next meeting is, I think, Monday the 6 March and it's
about setting up a server .. web, database, FTP, whatever. The
relevant article will be in Linux Format 77 out on Thursday. I think
I'd like to set up a web server, I've only ever managed to do that in
a lab session at uni.

PS. This meeting at least had a good people:computers ratio of 2:3,
