Seconded. If the modem is non Plug-n'-Play, then they can usually be
configured to use IRQs 5 or 2/9. If you can't configure that, then you'll
probably have to disable one of the one board ports and configure it as COM1
or COM2 instead. And even then, it may not work... (if you have a machine as
shonky as my old 486, at least).
