...and you end up with:

a) a driver that may cease to work permanently with future kernels

b) a "tainted" kernel that you won't get any help debugging if you ever
encounter a panic or other kind of crash.

The linuxant.com stuff is interesting, and a welcome suggestion, but I
thought it was only fair to put the other side of the case...
