On an earlier toppic of voip and conferencing. Asterisk seems to be pretty 
cool (including conferencing and more).

I found this book which was very good.

Sadly, the book mentioned that Digium FXO/FXS cards can cost as little as $10 
OEM while I had to buy mine for a ?130 from myphonecall.co.uk
