- response time (the faster the better, if you want to avoid ghosting on
moving images etc)

- dead pixel statement (i.e. how many need to be dead in order for the
monitor to qualify as 'faulty')

- contrast ratio (the larger, the better)

Same thing. AFAIK, all current LCD monitors *are* TFT.
