Subject: Kinect: you are the controller

*Dear Colleague*

The Berkshire Network <http://email.ietinfo.org/c/127pr2vDlCESDldw2j>
would like to invite you to the following event:

       Kinect: You are the Controller

*Mike Froggatt, Microsoft
*This generation of gaming systems has seen a massive explosion of
non-traditional control paradigms, from motion tracking controllers to
the multi-finger gestures and swipes of mobile games. Microsoft's Kinect
for Xbox 360 goes a step further offering, for the first time,
controller-free gaming through full-body skeletal tracking without the
need for a motion tracking studio or a suit covered in ping-pong balls.
This talk will examine the technology behind Kinect and look at the
challenges and opportunities of gaming in a world where a gamepad is
nowhere to be seen.

*10 May 2011*
19:00 for 19:30

Holiday Inn Reading South
500 Basingstoke Rd
