Yes some time after midnight on the 5th of June there was some sort of network outage in the subnet the server sits on.   I don't know what the problem was.  

Since the same server is used for http and smtp etc sending a message to sclug at sclug.org.uk is not going to get you an answer since the server is not reachable.  Around 12:30 on the 6th  the problem was fixed and hence your message went to every one but when they look all would be fine.
