FYI, I used Rockbox for a few years on my iRiver H340. It's a good project,
and usefully extends the capabilities of the devices it runs on. My only
criticism would be that the UI is a bit awkward and fiddly to use - but
then, so are the UIs of the original firmwares of many of these types of
devices!
