Hello to one & all,
Just to let every on know I have just set-up my old AGFA SnapScan E40
scanner on Mandriva 2006, I first visited
http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/ to check to see if the Scanner worked
with Linux. Thank fully it does but according to the info on the site
the setting on the system need tweaking and the Snape40.bin
file needs to be copied from a Bindows installation CD.

I went through the Mandriva Configure Your Computer wizard's Hardware
scanner set-up and found that the said bin file was indeed needed,
thank fully I had it on floppy disk. After telling the scanner set-up
wizard that I wanted to install the Firmware file (the Snape40.bin
file) from floppy disk and then installing the XSANE software the
scanner worked fine. I hope this will be off use to someone else as it
is a lot easier that the long way round that is listed on the qbik web
site.
