Hi all

Agree wholeheartedly with your aims - no dreams, no life. Problem - where to get resources from? Suggest one way (at least to start with) would be to work on projects that could attract funds, such as making Linux/Open Source software available to disadvantaged groups. E.G. - find a way that a blind user could use an aspect of Linux and code it in such a way that anyone could use it and you make the interface more attractive and useful to the new user - and this is funded by the National Lottery. There are loads of things that can be done on these lines - hardware and software - that would be general purpose, not specialist, but would attract heavy funding. One group with a lot of cash to give back from IT is the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists ( www.wcit.org.uk ).

HTH - need any help, such as allying with a registered charity (which makes fund-raising easier) let me know.

Tony
