[Sussex] Some webstats

It's not surprising if one considers that many problems with hardware
under Linuxcome from the fact that modems (like the speedtouch I use)
need a lot of work to setup in linux but run easily under win.
I am writing this under Win because the modem disconnects at random
under SuSE 8.1 and nobody seems to know why in the Linux community.
Unless and until Linux distros help more with hardware prob- solving for
people using low priced (or free ) hardware supplied with win drivers,
the stats will not move towards unix,/linux.
I am new to linux but have managed to get my box working ... main
problems were with speedtouch modem (almost solved completely), Artec
Ultima scanner (solved) and Epson 480 printer ( solved by using ppd
driver from internet)... it took me many hours and hard work ... under
win all these hardware items work on first connect due to software
supplied by vendors.
I am now a proud worker under linux and am considering unloading win
when I feel safe and secure ...
interesting stats anyway... shows the strength of monopolies world wide ...
