Hi fellas

Now that I have gentoo up and running I still have a problem with pppd:

When I connect it works fine. However, when I boot up the PC next day and
try to get online I find that /dev/modem has been turned into a directory
not a softlink and gentoo complains that it is unable to use it.

I used: ln -sf ttyS0 modem

Ive even tried removing it and: ln -s ttyS0 modem

but when I boot up the second time it has turned into a directory again.

when I do a ls /dev/modem it lists as /dev/modem/ttyS0

strange!
