[Sussex] [OT] Solaris / Sun OS question

Have you configured /etc/nsswitch.conf ???

Set it to something lile

==========

hosts:      files dns

==========

Which will tell it to look in files (/etc/hosts) then resolve DNS
(/etc/resolv.conf)

If it's currently just set to "hosts: files", that would explain your
problem.
