Sounds like you went to it in a webbrowser... pool.ntp.org is a round 
robin DNS zone that keeps updating with IP's of about 15 NTP servers 
around the world. Just point ntpd (NOT NTPDATE - NTPDATE IS BAD!!) at 
it, and get nice accurate time, from multiple sources, great :)

Because of the round-robin method of working, if you just goto 
pool.ntp.org then you'll get the IP of one of the timeservers, which can 
contain anything. The project webpage is at www.pool.ntp.org :)
