Or because I have not found a FLOSS client that meets all my requirement....

What I need a messaging (not just mail) client to do:

- Provide me with an integrated message interface comprosing POP3, SMTP,
IMAP and NNTP
- Be able to handle accounts with different authentication settings
(including NNTP-authentication)
- Support client-side rules to automatically file messages into subfolders
based on a variety of parameters including (but not restricted to), sender,
which of my accounts the message has been sent to, subject line partial
matching.
- Runs on Windows [Note 1]

[Note 1]: I _am_ forced to use Windows, because of client requirement. One
of my businesses develops proprietary, closed-source, software in VBA. The
market for this software is small, specialised, and according to our
research, uses Microsoft Office 100%. The software has taken several
man-years to develop, and my business partner and I have funded most of this
development time out of our own pockets.
