yast
On the command line will give you the curses  version of YaST2
use this to setup your network card with an address of 192.168.0.1 and change 
the host name and workgroup to suit your needs.
In the network services section goto samba server and just follow the prompts.
If you have the Pro version of SuSE 9.2 you could setup a dhcp server as well 
just set a range of 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.4 this would save configuring XP
OR
Install webmin on the SuSE box with this command
yast -i webmin
Then you can configure the server from XP
