Hmm... this is the sort of thing that I do as a job.

If she would like help getting this fixed then I can do it easily, depending
on exactly what is wrong it might take 5 mins, or, if it's a re-install then
it's about 30 mins work spread over 3 hours while the PC chugs it's way
through a CD and several update patches.

I never do this type of work on a customers site, I always collect the PC
and do it in my workshop since I can network the PC to save any user files
and I have broadband there and it speeds up the patch installs etc.
