That's pretty good for a residential service. If TW can keep that going and
not introduce caps they should do very well. I'm actually quite annoyed at
my ISP (Nildram) for selling themselves to Pipex and introducing caps after
being so good for so long. So far I haven't actually hit my cap, but I
object on principle to not having a pretty much raw Internet connection ;)

At least I can change ISP ;)

This is true, although ISPs tend to be in the same places (ie datacentres)
and do a lot of peering, so there are links between many of them that
incurr zero transit costs and are as big as they can be arsed to lay^Wfight
cable through Telehouse ;)

Again true, however the flip side of not owning/controlling the endpoint of
the connection is that you don't have any control over the endpoint of your
Internet connection and while that doesn't matter a jot to some people,
it's really quite important to others.

I suspect we could keep this rumbling a while and I don't want to run down
people pushing the bandwidth levels in the UK. I just want a bit more
control/purity than they are offering at the moment :)
