I was just reading the gentoo kde split e-build doc. Which explained the
pros and cons, it made me wonder about whether a new emerge or a
re-build post adding the USE flags would take the longer.

Though 40 hours ? Last time I screwed up installing gentoo and did the
emerge kde, as opposed to emerge -k kde, it only took about 15 hours so
with "their" projection of +20 to 25% I figured maybe 18 to 20 hours,
but again it depends on the new Vs. rebuild.

Personally I feel that it's going quite well, as I'm now down to a mere
420 packages to go - and thats accounting for the delay of forgetting
that java sdk and it's "fetch restriction" (the systems now onto Xorg,
which is a biggie any way you look at it).

As for Niks comment about whether it'll have finished by the next moot,
I was thinking about whether it would be ready for the next one that I
can get too, bearing in mind my average of about 3 per annum! :-P
