Erm, no. I'm quite happy to use the cowardice that is "genkernel"!

As for trying to modprobe ipaq, that gives me ->

johns root # modprobe ipaq
FATAL: Module ipaq not found.
johns root #

This seems familiar - I seem to recall Geoff explaining something like
this a while ago, but for the life of me I can remember when it was -
It'll be in the mail archive somewhere, but I'll be blowed if I can find
it i.e. missing modules etc it gives me some direction to look through the
gentoo docs (again! as I've been reading through, but can't find the bit
I'm looking for :( )

I would pop up, as I'm only down in Lancing, unfortunately "indoors" has
me housesitting 2 rather small/young/vv timid and nervous kittens courtesy
of the Worthing Cat Welfare people (cosmic) until thursday lunchtime (so
much more time to get stressed out trying to sort this but thank god for a
return to work!).

If you're available over the next 2 days or so a call in would be very
much appreciated. Oh and I can do a reasonable line in espresso coffee and
sandwiches :)

regards
