Symbian is not an open source (to the best of my knowledge).  It is the
new name for the PsionOS.  I have it running in my Motorola E1000 and
it normally includes a Java J2ME environment (mine does) and some other
toys.  On some of the Nokia phones you can use p3nfs (Psion 3 Network
File System) to mount the phone's data area on your laptop - but that
doesn't work for me :-(.
