Track Changes are possible with OOo 2
If you  look in help (keyword Track) there is a table of the various 
equivalents to that other system. In OOo it is 'Changes - Record'.
BTW it was this feature on the letter from No 10 that revealed some 
truths. Moral - never send word documents without first deleting such 
history, much better to send as pdf.
 From the feedback which I receive the functionality of OOo is generally 
superior.
Specifically it has very nice features to allow highlighting of text 
that is changed while proof reading.
I am already updating everybody to the latest version.
