Ronan,

I used to have to be cleared by the Police when I was a Woodcraft Leader -
it was quite painless. We always had helpers, normally parents, who assisted
but they were not cleared. Presumably, the group could invite you as a
guest, rather like a Guest Speaker, until you get clearance.
