and after "cribbing" what you said i.e. the apt-cache search thing, it wasn't 
showing 2.6.15-25 only the -23 package so I'm presuming that I should have 
something different or extra in my sources.list (actually it also showed a 
2.6.15-23-686 and as my system is a pentium 4 based one, I should probably 
also have the 686 kernel version).

Could you advise me as to what I need to change in my sources.list ?
