I think after all I will avoid Zip drives. The thing is that, as it is
a course room for software training, I would like to set a good
example in backup procedures, within a moderate budget.

The best hardware solution then seems to be an external hard drive or firewire.

As for the backup software, I think there was a comparison in one of
the Linux magazines, although things move on so quickly in the Linux
World.
