Tiscali may or may not work for you. They supply a USB modem. The one they
supplied me (Sagem Fast 800) wasn't properly supported under Linux, though I
got it working once or twice (that was back in Jan 2005). My folks who went
with broadband with Tiscali this Feb, got a newer Speedtouch USB modem as
part of the package.
My folks don't use Linux - so I never got to true, but I believe the
Speedtouch would be USB compatible.

I use one with Onetel 2meg broadband and have no problems. There are several
options for setting it up. Which is best depends on your distribution. I
have used it with Suse, Ubuntu, Kubuntu, JuegaLinux(Spanish) and Mepis (my
present system). If anyone needs details my email is jg00gw at onetel.com

Onetel does not support Linux only Mac & Windows but this has never proved a
problem.
