Please note that while FTP is old and stable as heck, it has some
fascinating proxy problems and security problems. For most non-anonymous
uses these days, WebDAV over SSL is superior: it's a single port, more
secure,. supports chroot and basic Apache security models, and operates fine
with numerous command-line and graphical tools (including lftp and I believe
Konqueror), and is built into Windows as well.
