The slowness of Windows is certainly a good reason for going Linux. With
all the protection that is required, ant-virus, firewall, anti-spyware
and so on taking so much resource the Linux becomes very attractive indeed.
My machine is also an Athlon 1.2gig but with 512meg ram, and I am well
pleased with the speed. Having enough ram is really important and now
that it is cheap there is no reason not to.

Remember that Hollywood do not use Windows, they cannot afford the cost
of the unreliability. But, they use Adobe Photo Shop on cross-over
office on Linux. The next versions of Adobe PhotoShop are going to be
supported on Linux.

Although PhotoShop seems to be the program of choice, fine if you have
$649 to blow, The Gimp is an amazing package even if it is not so
intuitive to use.

Windows users love viruses, others use UNIX and Linux.
