Never played with them. Try Googling.
Richie may have a better idea - he is part of the Lewis WiFi group.

You shouldn't need directional antennas for that sort of distance, but
it will certainly improve the signal strength at each end if you do.
Steve and the others are right - line of sight is very important for
the connection you are intending to setup. Here is the sort of
directional antenna we are talking about:
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.solwise.co.uk/wireless-outdoorantenna-24-yagi-14yn.htm">http://www.solwise.co.uk/wireless-outdoorantenna-24-yagi-14yn.htm</a><br>
<br>
My recommendation would be to purchase 2 access points with bridge
facilities (such as the Pheenet WAP 454g -
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.solwise.co.uk/wireless-wap-454g.htm">http://www.solwise.co.uk/wireless-wap-454g.htm</a>), one of these goes at
each end of the connection - these should go in the loft as close to
the antenna location as possible. Then put up a couple of antennas on
each house - and this is the really really important bit - place the
AP's as close to the antennas as possible - ideally within 2 metres.
The reason is that the cable and connectors used to connect the AP's to
the antennas lose significant signal, and you end up with virtually
nothing coming out of the antenna.<br>
<br>
You will therefore need:<br>
<br>
2 x AP<br>
2 x Antenna<br>
2 x Pigtails (convert the Pheenet plug to Antenna plug<br>
4 metres of LMR400 cable (ish)<br>
N-Type connectors, crimpers, etc<br>
<br>
You can get this from Solwise, or, alternatively, contact us at
snsfeeed.net - we have a shop, and can help you out with setting it all
up (and crimping the connectors, etc!)<br>
<br>
Hope that helps,<br>
