Hi Dominic,<div>We too at the Rustington LUG are getting interested in programming, at least I am, and with pi which seems to advocate python there is IDLE to contend with.</div><div>I am exploring perl because of signing up for the course in August.</div>

When I manage to make it to the moots I keep saying I'll do an<br>

# Writing apps - Actually writing code to do useful things<br>

There's no chance at all that this could be done in one session, but<br>
there's no reason they'd have to be consecutive if other people have<br>
things they want to talk about. They would all be aimed entirely at<br>
beginners - no prior knowledge assumed (beyond the ability to run a<br>
Linux OS)<br>

So if there's any interest in any or all of the above topics, let me<br>
know and I'll cobble something together. If not, then I'll just turn up<br>
and eat chips occasionally :o)<br>
