[SWLUG] grep question

if i am feeding a file to grep that has an expression on each line to search 
through another file for matches, is there a way to output the line of the 
file that has the matching expression as well as the match, or to specify 
which line of the file to use as an expression?

"I teleported home one night
With Ron and Sid and Meg.
Ron stole Meggie's heart away
And I got Sidney's leg."
