I am having real bother upgrading PHP on a server. There is, as I was discussing with some of you in the Prince of Wales, a security loophole.
I have followed Telsa's excellent advice as well as the tips I picked up on
#swlug chatting to people.
After having run a big update trhough apt all 49 megs of it including a lot of
stuff other than PHP it still won't go on.

 rpm -Uhv php-4.0.6-9.7.1.i386.rpm

Gives
error: failed dependencies:
        libcrypto.so.1   is needed by php-4.0.6-9.7.1
        libdb-3.1.so   is needed by php-4.0.6-9.7.1
        libpspell.so.2   is needed by php-4.0.6-9.7.1
        libssl.so.1   is needed by php-4.0.6-9.7.1
        php = 4.0.6-12 is needed by php-mysql-4.0.6-12
        php = 4.0.6-12 is needed by php-imap-4.0.6-12

I can find most of these in other RPMs but then they have failed dependencies.

Can I obtain the sources for things like libcrypto.so.1? Is this a useful line
to go down? Any help would be appreciated.
