O'Reilly, the technical publishers, have a variety of offers to
do with LUGs. The interesting ones are discounts for members of
participating LUGs and freebie copies of books if you review them.

I was reminded of this when I saw another ORA newsletter on a
different mailing list. I think we should go for it.

We fit their criteria. There's definitely more than five of us,
and we have a website we can easily put reviews on.

(Me wanna review a book on vim, me wanna!)

I do have some other books I can review. I keep meaning to.
In the meantime, plug for my favourite book: "Think UNIX"
by Jon Lasser. It's opinionated, it's clear, it's short
(rather than 500 pages of screenshots), and it explains
principles you can apply on any UNIX or Linux rather
than telling you a command which you later find works
only on specific distros or flavours of UNIX. There are
at least two different man packages used in the Linux
world, for example, with difference config files and
options.
