OK looking at this logically it must be something both OS's are using if its 
effecting both in the same way.  Are they on the same hard drive or different 
hard drives?  Does event viewer and/or syslog give any indication as to what 
the problem might be?

Do you have any spare hardware bits to swap out with, ideally everything from 
power supply to ram sticks.  Ive had problems with 'pregnant capacitors' 
before now, on motherboard and graphics cards.  Open the box up and check the 
top of the capacitors [you probably have a couple of dozen located in 5 or 6 
groups, they look like tall cylinders, ~1 inch tall] , the top should be flat 
and have a '+' etched into it.  If its gone pop, or about to, the top will be 
rounded and you may see a brownish residue/stain on the board underneath it.

Cant really think of anything else to try without more info tbh.
