I recently replaced my aged 10baseT cards (some of which were ISA) with 
nobrand 100baseT ones from eBuyer. £2.44 each, IIRC. They're SiS 900 
devices which all the brands of Linux I've tried have picked up in a 
second (RedHat, Debian, Gentoo). A friend has just bought 12 of them for 
use in a training room at his offices, and got change from 30 notes.
