[SWLUG] suse 9.1 yast must die

I think one of yast's problems is that it holds its own internal config data that then gets written to all the usual config files - good in that it will hopefully keep everything consistent - bad in that it's  hard to know what might happen where,  and often you'll find you need more control and want to hack the actual files - but then run the risk of YAST over-writing your working setup later. 

don't see how an OS yast would be any better.   

but, there again, I know nothing !

Hopefully now that YaST is open source, bugs such as this will be fixed.
