[SWLUG] Reiser fsck hangs at boot (or: Crap! My drive!)

Hi folks,

Yesterday evening my Mandrake 10.1 box crashed (remember when that didn't happen
to Linux users? I've never had such an unstable distro, but I digress...)

Now when I boot it attempts to run fsck on my root filesystem, which is
reiserfs.

However.....

reiser.fsck, or whatever its called, hangs every time, at the same point. I have
left this running for ~8 hours overnight, so it really isn't doing anything
(the hd activity led does not light.)

This is, of course, long before I can drop to single user mode, or anything
which will get me a shell.

Any suggestions? (Typical - I gave away my slightly old Knoppix cd, downloaded
the new one and haven't burnt it!)

Thanks!
Ian
