Hi all, especially students,

Some of you might be interested in the new installment of Google's
Summer of Code 2006.

"Summer of Code 2006 is a program that offers student developers
stipends to create new open source programs or to help currently
established projects. Google will be working with a variety of open
source, free software, and technology-related groups to identify and
fund several hundred projects over a three-month period. The inaugural
instance of the program, which took place last summer, brought together
400 students and 40 mentoring organizations from 49 countries. We'd like
to include even more organizations and participants this year."

And as I might be mentoring some of drupal's projects, here is some
shameless Drupal SoC plugs:
===========================
Drupal needs your help

Flex your coding muscles by joining the Drupal Summer of Code Project.
Drupal (http://drupal.org) is a highly popular content management system
because it is versatile, uses a unique approach to organizing content,
and fueled by a vibrant open source community. It is the engine behind
the
  KernelTrap (http://www.kerneltrap.org/)
  Spread Firefox (http://www.spreadfirefox.com/)
  RemixReading (www.remixreading.org)
and plenty of other websites - just look at the case studies:

Drupal's versatility comes from its pluggable, modular approach, which
is open for contributions from any programmer. Aside from being a simple
content publishing tool, Drupal allows features like role-based
security, polls, forums, blogs, wikis and others.

You can help Drupal by developing a new module or contributing/enhancing
existing ones. Stipends and bragging rights are at stake!

Hope to hear from you later =)
Cheers,
Vlado
