I have been running the BBC climate change model under Linux (Mandriva 
2006 on an Athlon 64 2.8 GHz) for the past week or so and after clocking 
up 36 hours of processor time has completed approx 1% !

What it is like with Windoze I dread to think. I used to process SETI 
work units which took 8-9 hrs under Linux running as a background task 
but 30+ hrs with Windoze as an exclusive job.

Anyone else any experience of climate change ?
